PS - what is a hornyhead? It is a little fish (winners are often under 10 inches!) with bumps or horns on its head. It is just a little fish but it is found in many of our local streams and creeks, is fun for young and old to catch, and is an appropriate honoree for Newborn, "A Town With Characters." The Hornyhead Festival raises funds for the preservation of the Historic Newborn Schoolhouse, a 1924 school building and community center on Hwy 142 in Newborn.
