Wastewater Collection System Operator II

DEFINITION:
Under general supervision, performs a variety of wastewater collection system repair, maintenance, and customer services work; performs related duties as required.

CLASS CHARACTERISTICS:
Wastewater Collection Systems Worker II is the intermediate level class in this series. Initially, under close supervision, incumbents learn and perform a variety of duties in maintenance, repair, and operation of wastewater collection systems. This class is alternately staffed with Wastewater Operators and incumbents may advance to the higher level after gaining sufficient experience and job knowledge and meeting the requirements of the higher-level class. Wastewater Collection System Worker II performs the full range of assigned duties within the Authority’s Wastewater Collection System. This class is distinguished from Senior Wastewater Collection Systems Worker, which is the specialist level class, performing more difficult and complex collections work, skilled equipment operations, and acts as a crew lead.
