Executive Assistant--Part Time
Job Title: Part-Time Executive Assistant
Reports To: President & CEO
Location: Newton Chamber of Commerce
Status: Part-Time | Non-Exempt
Position Overview:
The Newton Chamber of Commerce is seeking a detail-oriented, personable, and dependable Part-Time Executive Assistant to support day-to-day operations of the Chamber. This role is a key point of contact for members, visitors, and community stakeholders—often serving as the first impression of the Chamber both in-person and by phone.
The ideal candidate will provide direct support to the President & CEO, while also assisting the Membership Director and Events & Communications Manager as needed. A high level of professionalism, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment are essential for success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet and assist walk-in visitors, members, and guests with a warm and professional demeanor.
- Answer incoming phone calls and route inquiries appropriately, providing timely and helpful information.
- Prepare and assemble materials for meetings, including agendas, minutes, and reports.
- Provide administrative support to the Membership Director and Events & Communications Manager, including database updates, event support, and communications.
- Draft professional correspondence, reports, and meeting notes with accuracy and clarity.
- Maintain an organized and welcoming office environment.
- Assist with scheduling, filing, data entry, and document management.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the President & CEO.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree or higher preferred.
- Prior administrative or customer service experience, preferably in a nonprofit, Chamber, or community-focused setting.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Google Workspace, Microsoft and Canva preferred
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently.
- Professional demeanor, strong interpersonal skills, and a passion for community engagement.
Position Details:
- Ability to lift at least 20 lbs (event materials, signage, supplies).
- Ability to be on your feet for extended periods of time during events and setup/breakdown.
- Hours: 28 hours per week; schedule to be determined with flexibility for Chamber events.
- Compensation: Hourly wage commensurate with experience.
- Location: On-site at Chamber offices; occasional off-site event support.
