Description
Rapid, wide-scale electric vehicle adoption is critical for reducing greenhouse gas emissions to address climate change. It's also vital to US national security to dramatically lessen dependence on foreign oil.
But rare elements sourced from other countries are required to build lithium-ion batteries that power EVs. And disposal of spent batteries poses significant environmental risk. So how do we scale battery production without negatively impacting the environment? That seems like the perfect topic for an Earth Day 2022 discussion.
This summer, Ascend Elements will open a commercial-scale, lithium-ion battery recycling facility in Covington which will be North America’s largest battery recycling facility. In this live webinar, Sustainable Newton will talk with Ascend Elements Vice President of Global Marketing & Government Relations Roger Lin, about his company's mission, their plans for Covington, the proprietary innovations they'll be using here, and what it all means for the EV industry and the world.
